Seems to me almost like a defensive line, with small breaks to allow limited passage and to funnel attackers into a known spot. I would guess that what has been found inside of the ‘holes’ was due to air blown distribution of trade goods being carried through the region.

Unfortunately, the URL referenced in the link does not point to the original article.

Here is what I assume was referenced:

Thank you for that, I only dug out the HN discussion, having read the article back when it was on the front page. Weird that the link changed like that!

Not a problem!

It took an embarrassing long time reading through the article, waiting for the pivot to ‘Russian Smiling’, only to realize by almost the very end, that clearly, I had been hoodwinked.

Linking the proper article after this endeavor seemed appropriate to save others the same grief.

Two benefits of a screen:

-Better brightness, contrast, color, etc.

-Screen border edge contrast with surrounding wall gives better ‘outlining’ to the picture, helping focus.

Keep in mind, the barrels where the liquor is stored, are not airtight, and results in annual losses. Holding is actually losing in this case.

The problem was never in the time it takes to vacuum. You have to keep things neat and tidy enough in the first place in order to be able to vacuum. That’s where the time sink lies.

It seems a very odd merger, I’m guessing most of the rationale is going to be hidden.

Trying to stake a stagnant asset to one with limitless potential upside, should help the stock value, at least short term.

I would agree that for all intents and purposes, X abandoned Twitter…but it looks like the 3 year time frame has not yet occurred. If they could’ve stayed quite a bit longer, they may have been successful.

Indeed, July 2026 would've been a better time to attempt to acquire the abandoned trademark based on their rebranding timeline.

How do you handle contact-less payment only scenarios, or purchasing items online?

Purchasing things online I sometimes use anonymized bitcoin, or prepaid credit cards purchased with cash. Most of the time I use bank cards like anyone else. Almost everything but appliances is shipped to a P.O. box.

IRL I only use cash which makes my movements around the real world mostly invisible digitally speaking. What I buy at the pharmacy etc is not tracked or sold to insurance companies, etc.

Never seen contactless payment be a hard requirement. Everyone takes cash eventually if there is a human to talk to, though I do sometimes end up using a frequently rotating prepaid credit card for things like parking.

You’d likely be interested in the history of the Bobcat (tm)

I think you’d find other sites a better recipient of your submissions. A cursory glance at your post history indicates the ‘Israel’ portion of the article far exceeds any ‘Tech’ interest.

Palantir is a tech company.

This doesn’t change the fact that you are hyper focused on Israel

You have it backwards, Israel is hyper focused on the US government, media and tech industry. I’m just one of their victims who’s had enough.

You can call yourself a victim of whoever you want, but that doesn't change the fact that from the perspective of other HN users, you are hyper focused on posting stories about a topic other users aren't interested in. Those users are flagging your stories. If you don't want them to flag, find stories about topics they are interested in, or find a site where people are interested in a non stop of stream of "Israel bad, US bad, <thing u like/support> bad, <thing I like/support> good" etc.
