As much as I’d like them not to lose, they are going to have a hard time here, since they basically disassembled the whole game and posted it on GitHub.
Wasn't the same done with Mario 64? Nintendo is the most litigious game company and they couldn't/haven't done anything about it.
But then again I believe someone on here said they was a difference between how the two are done.
I had a gut negative reaction to this comment (the government comment is irrelevant).
But to play devil's advocate, can't someone buy any cheap old iPhone (or any smartphone), activate it with a cheap prepaid plan, and use the phone itself as a tracking device instead of an airtag?
I guess the only thing special about the airtag is it's (slightly) cheaper than a cheap smartphone, longer battery life, and explicitly marketed for the purpose of tracking things. Even if a cheap prepaid smartphone can accomplish the same thing while going completed undetected.

When I was younger I had a friend who worked in a cellular phone store (back when most people went to a physical store to buy cell phones).
He very frequently got customers asking for another phone to do exactly this. It was a common problem for their commission structure because the cheap phones used for tracking people (usually spouses suspected of cheating) were often returned within 30 days and their data plan cancelled, which was a net negative for their sales stats and commission structure.
As of the latest iPhone release, "Find my iphone" still works even when you power the iphone off (there's a warning that says this when you attempt to shut down your iphone). I wonder how long an iPhone will hold its charge while powered off.
> The Android OS is intentionally crippled to work only with Google Play push notifications, and there are no 'stock' ways to use an alternative without modifying the OS.
And distribute the modified OS to all your customers how exactly? You could probably sell your own android based phone as long as you find a single manufacturer that isn't part of Googles OpenHandset alliance or bound by the Play Store license to only sell Google approved Android. Alternatively you could limit yourself to India and China where Google cannot enforce these terms. There really isn't any point in pretending that Android is an open OS in the west. It is Googles proprietary stack or nothing.
Presumably Amazon have some stats of how frequently each type of card is used on their platform, even if that's just aggregation done on the first 4 digits of the card number.
They are probably well placed to determine how many customers use Visa with them versus Mastercard, or even have both and use both on the website. The subset who have only ever used Visa on Amazon may or may not have an alternative card they could use, but they will presumably have factored in the cost of potentially losing the sale entirely as a result of refusing Visa.
With Visa so entrenched in UK finance, it's not going to be received by customers the same way as Amex being refused (let's face it, Amex is refused most places because the only people who use it do so because they are getting cashback which is paid for by the merchant having increased fees). Instead, Visa will be the card they've always used, so if Amazon stop accepting it, I think a lot of customers will just shop elsewhere instead.
If everyone using Visa credit cards stop buying on Amazon starting 19th January, Amazon will probably budge.
But since everyone has a debit card Amazon must be betting that if they do stop accepting Visa credit cards then customers will just shrug and switch card because they really, really need that stuff now.
Most users either have a MasterCard or have a visa, and the majority of people couldn't get the other without substantial hassle. It would normally involve switching to a new bank, which in the UK is less frequent than divorces.
That gives visa a lot of lock in - and the competition is no longer MasterCard but instead openbanking API's.
This is not an improvement, it's basically saying you don't need to worry about Mothra because Godzilla will turn up to save us. Ignoring those who get trampled under the fighting behemoths.
But overdose is a relative term, is it actually easy to overdose on ivermectin? Depending on the drug and how much a typical dosage is, overdosing could be a simple mistake like taking a second pill or be a ludicrous amount like eating hundreds of pills.
It's easy to overdose. A typical use of ivermectin for antiparasitic effect is a one-time dose with a single pill. But for so-called covid prevention, people have been taking higher doses for a prolonged period of time. There have been reported cases of people who had to get a liver transplant due to ivermectin misuse.
Is it? Is there a good community alternative to Whatsapp and Facebook that is also used by people other than terrorists and right wing activists (joke)?
Last time I tried to switch to an alternative, I ended up with my messaging spread out to many apps. So I ended up going back to the common denominator: Whatsapp
I don't want to be pedantic here but Facebook was the replacement for Google's Orkut. Orkut started messing up and they lost their leadership position almost overnight.
That wouldn't make the arguments disappear. The author is a DevRel for Chrome, for better or worse they have to go where the audience is. It's literally their job.
