Are you also saying that thoughts are formed using gradient descent? I don't think gradient descent is an accurate way to describe either process in nature. Also, we don't know that we "see" everything that is happening, we don't even understand the brain yet.

as shareholder I optimize spending for profit
In real life of software building value output is decoupled from "work rate" for other professions like factory where quantity and quality are metrics easily measured then value output can be coupled with work rate.
If the job is task oriented why bother having employees just pay per task but maintaining and evolving software is not task oriented even some structures consider software engineers as transpilers of (bad written) user stories :)

Apart from the rampant whataboutism and cultural relativism in this comment, the question of human rights isn't a political but a universal one. Human rights are non-negotiable.
If a country or organization can't accept (or can't be arsed to) basic human rights, I don't want to associate myself with that organization or country in any way and I certainly won't be supporting any affairs or business that might benefit them.
While there certainly are human rights issues or even blatant human rights violations in almost any country, there's a fundamental difference between that and an almost complete disregard for such basic principles and the nonchalant, devil-may-care, "Fuck human rights, just show us the money!" attitude FIFA displays.
