These rape allegations are from 2016 originally. There's already a court case about it. So, it's both already known and just allegations. That doesn't help us and shouldn't surprise us.
Trump has openly admitted to child prostitution in official statements, so the first part of that isn’t surprising at all.
Look at the early quotes where Trump complains about Epstein being a creep. The main problem Trump had was that Epstein poached Trump’s favorite kids for prostitution years after they were hired by Trump.
Anecdotally have some relatives that worked in nuclear industry in USA and have gone on to consulting for the Chinese due to opportunities being too few and far between here in the USA.
Nomadland the book documents this for a lot of Americans surviving in the brink in the aftermath of the 2008 crash, turning to living in vans and RVs, a less glamorous version of van life, barely scraping by and eventually bad luck or circumstance of some kind of another just crushes individuals. Even in Silicon Valley just a few streets from Google HQ in Mountain View on Longhorn and other streets there are several blocks filled with RVs of folks I assume like the ones in Nomadland. https://maps.app.goo.gl/KQY2AWL2sNfGem44A
The USA has several regions that appear to be headed in the same direction because of some ancient laws about water rights; bureaucracies motivated by have budget/must use for only development of water resources; developers who benefit from government projects exploiting water resources (most egregiously the farming land and urban development in deserts in Southern California, and Arizona) - all under the guise of democracy documented in Cadillac Desert.
This happened to me when the local credit union, TechCU, overhauled their web interface and app. I called their help line and stumped them for a while. I finally figured out their interface allowed me to use a period in my password and confirmation field and accepted them but somehow their login process did not. To their credit the characters they listed as allowable did not list period which I did not read carefully and just skimmed the first time I saw it.
This year I don't even get to the point of making a password. It's possible something about my attempt 10 years ago has polluted my phone number. So it goes.
Notice, too, that my story is about the utter lack of support like in OP.
The little but wealthy town of Los Altos Hills next to Palo Alto had Flock come in and install their camera surveillance after a string of burglaries and one or two home invasion style robberies, it's a mostly rural/suburban area. Believe it or not there are also still folks who come from cultures where they do not believe in banks in the USA, so there is a lot of cash and gold in those people's homes.
I find I always have to lookup the value of the monetary stuff and Georgian British rules about inheritance whenever I go back and read Austen, it's the only part that's really dated, after one gets used to the sentence structure.
It's really deep in the series (about ten books deep) but Lois McMaster Bujold writes a sci fi space version of Jane Austen in a couple of the books of the Vorkosigan Saga one might appreciate more after reading a bit of Austen.
I read four other articles in this week's New Yorker by the time I got to this one and the problem it has is we are probably at this point all familiar with the story of a gay person coming to accept themselves and there was nothing new in this version for a very long time so when it belabors the point there is a real danger to losing the audience, I read the magazine just prior to bed and gave up on this one after first attempt, enjoyed the rest of the magazine (even some of the culture articles about New York residents) and came back to this article and fell asleep.
I mostly agree but they might only be issuing instructions to surrender in Russian in written (delivered by drone) or verbally. Ukraine made an extraordinary effort to capture a North Korean soldier and a special forces unit learned a tiny bit of Korean in order to communicate and capture one before the Korean could commit suicide.
The Russians that have successfully surrendered have claimed their officers will shoot their own soldiers for surrendering in view of them. In addition the Ukrainians have to treat anyone who doesn't follow directions as potential perfidy - fake surrenders - there's several videos of Russians pretending to surrender and continuing to fight when the Ukrainians get close.
One is pretty much screwed once they are sent to the frontlines on the Russian side.
