"Text files" are perhaps underspecified (what character set?) but a good fraction of bytes would, by themselves, count as valid text files.

We can be generous and say any common character set - ASCII, Latin-1, UTF-8, UTF-16, etc. It'd be interesting to see the longest intelligible phrase has found so far.
