If life existed previously on Venus but no longer, how long could phosphine exist in the atmosphere without breaking down due to natural chemical processes?


In their video conference they said thousands of seconds.


Only in the upper cloud layers! Apparently underneath they haven't a clue, but I'm guessing it can't be aeons.
