Kubernetes is fantastic if you're running global-scale cloud platforms, ie, you are literally Google.
Over my past five years working with it, there has been not a single customer that had a workload appropriate for kubernetes, and it was 100% cargo-cult programming and tool selection.
Your case is def not the norm. We’re not google sized but we are taking a big advantage of k8s running dozens of services on it - from live video transcoding to log pipelines.
