Eventual Consistency in PBS (Probabilistically Bounded Staleness) (cs.berkeley.edu)

Something confusing about that chart: the range of the Y-axis doesn't start at zero, and it changes when you adjust the parameters, making it hard to see how changes to the parameters affect the probabilities in question.

It depends on how much availability you want.

Also, how much you want to spend on your infrastructure, and how certain you want to be about your data integrity.

The title's correct per submission, but there's some lost context here, could do with 'in PBS' or something. (I expected a generalised discussion on what 'eventual' means in 'eventual consistency', not figures.)

Agree. Updated Title.

In anything Google related (Cloud, Workspace) it's anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours+.

As a user, if I have to work around your stuff being eventually consistent, perhaps it shouldn't be?

Phrases I've used:

- Occasionally Consistent

- Periodically Consistent

- Perpetually Inconsistent
