I got a single quiet box running Proxmox and it hosts all my private workloads. The workloads change from time to time, but the following have been persistent:

- router (pfSense) with wireguard VPN

- piHole for ad blocking

- Kubernetes cluster for running my own projects

- Cloudflare tunnel (on k8s) for exposing services to the internet

- Jenkins for CI and misc automation

- Samba shares for family members

- NFS share for K8s volumes

- Asterisk for telephony

It's great to have everything virtualized. Enables you to try new things easily. Also saves you electricity and space, and does nor sound like having jet engine(s) in your home
