You can read all the article and the study and not a mention of what the gas is.


It's charged plasma in the upper atmosphere being ripped away by fluctuations in the magnetosphere. The upper atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium, so it's that after it gets ionized.


Thx, I guess idk whether plasma is a gas or a plasma. Assumed it should be called a plasma bubble then.
