I wish samsung had build something like a nx mini with smartphone capabilities or a galaxy zoom with a decent 1" sensor with quality/capabilities similar to a sony RX100 or a canon g7x. I like having my compact camera everywhere I go, I wouldn't mind keeping only one device in my pocket and just use a bt headphone for calls.
Personally, I can barely stand the smartphone UI for a camera. The only good thing you have there is touch auto-focus, but I have that on the "proper" NX cameras as well, plus all the dials and knobs for quickly adapting to the subject.
The NX mini is a great little device, but it was badly marketed and priced, and its manual focus is utterly unusable. I so much wish that the mini2 would've been released before exiting the market!
These were such great & exiting products, an interesting time full of possibility. It's unfortunate how fixed-function cameras have become. The more modern cameras out there do have some sdk's but this still seems way future-forward an attempt & it'd be so excellent to see open possibilities like this come again.
I know it would be super niche though.
