I like how they suggest Python and Ruby which both are implemented in C, an unsafe language by their own words and Java's JVM is implemented in a mixture of C, C++, assembly, and Java.

Do they really think trillions, if not more, lines of code that exist out there will simply get rewritten in a safe language, such as Rust or Ada?

They really need to get serious because they are humiliating themselves.


I do not see why D is not in the list. It is garbage collected.

Also I do not see why Julia is not in the list. It is mostly general purpose these days.


As a Rails dev I’m happy to see Ruby make the list!
