I find this hilarious because before I can go further into hacking into fancy cutting edge deep learning models, I have to process years and years of XML data from an external party.
As someone else said, the only purpose of University is to teach how to learn. Everything else is up to you. Again, there are places that teach you specific skills that are job relevant now (Codeacademy/Bootcamps). You could very well do them and get a high paying job too.
However.
Figure out what you want to eventually be in life. Do you want to be a high paid janitor who can be easily replaced? Or do you want be the guy who can see through all the bullshit frameworks and design solutions that are robust. The guy who remains relevant at 40.
